Vox Grata, a Nashville-based women’s choir, will present their spring concert, “The Poet Sings” on May 22, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The concert will feature choral works inspired by the poetry of Robert Frost, Sara Teasdale, Christina Rossetti, Emily Dickinson, May Sarton and others.
Vox Grata is led by Artistic Director Jeanette MacCallum, and is accompanied by John Semingson.
Vox Grata is comprised of joyful women who, out of gratitude for the fullness of their own lives, possess a desire to sing together for the benefit of others. The group performs repertoire that expresses a uniquely feminine spirit, especially works that promote the interests of women in society. Vox Grata Women’s Choir is unique among fine choral groups, as this concert and all of their concerts directly benefit the needs of women in the Nashville community.
In lieu of an admission fee, donations will be accepted with the proceeds benefiting YWCA Weaver Domestic Violence Shelter of the YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee. The concert will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3900 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN. For additional details, go to www.voxgrata.com.
