Vox Grata Joins Music City Baroque for Special Music Performance

“Recovery of a Lost Tradition”

Women’s choir Vox Grata joins forces with Music City Baroque for a unique program of instrumental and choral music from the Venetian Ospedali.

In the 18th century these orphanages and hospitals were central to musical life in Venice. Composers such as Vivaldi wrote music for their orchestras and choirs of talented young women.

For more than 10 years, Music City Baroque has performed music of the Baroque era, using authentic instruments and style to recreate the original sound of this beautiful and enduring music.

This performance will be led by Jeanette MacCallum of Vox Grata and Allison Nyquist of Music City Baroque.
